Son of Hope by David Berkowitz

A simple and honest book by a man who used to live a life of murderous destruction to a life transformed by the grace of God. Son of Hope is an excellent read for everyone and a good gift to give to former convicts and those who serves time in prison.

On August 10, 1977, after the largest manhunt in New York history, police captured the infamous serial killer known as ‘Son of Sam‘. For more than a year, David Berkowitz terrorized the city, leaving six victims dead and seven others wounded. David claimed to had fallen in with a satanic cult and that he was commanded to kill by a demon that possessed his neighbor’s dog. Berkowitz has been imprisoned since his arrest and is serving six life sentences consecutively. Ten years into David’s prison sentence, a fellow inmate began to share with him Christ’s love, hope, and forgiveness. In 1987, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal Savior, and that changed everything for him. Son of Hope is David Berkowitz prison journals – a book that offers evidences that God has a miraculous transformation in David’s life. This book offers hope and that transformation is available to anyone and at anytime, by just asking Jesus Christ to come in and take over. Several Christian organizations now refer to David’s testimony as an example of the life-transforming power of the Gospel.

  • “This book is an eye-opener. It certainly provides insight as to who David Berkowitz is today, and what prison life is really like. It’s inspiring to read that even in the depths of a maximum security prison, God can shine the light of His word into the mind and heart of an arsonist, Satanist and murderer, and turn him into a loving minister of the Gospel. I donated three copies of it to the library at the Maryland Correctional Institute for Women in Jessup, Maryland. I highly recommend this book.” – R. Tauriello, Amazon Review
  • “This is an inspiring story that will captivate the reader and hopefully change the readers life.” – J. Mac Iver
  • “I am sharing this book with all my Christian and non-Christian friends. He’s spreading the Gospel outside of prison through this book.” – A. Dykstra, Amazon Review
