“Saving Cicadas” is an inspirational novel written by Nicole Seitz that dares question about the validity of an unborn child’s right to life.
Seitz novel is a tale of redemption which was set in the flatlands of the South. At the beginning of the story, Priscilla, a single mother, found out that she was pregnant with her third child. Her oldest child, Rainey is seventeen years of age and has down syndrome while Janie, the youngest was only eight. Priscilla doesn’t know how she will be able to manage her life with another child and so she quit her job and hits he road with her kids and her parents to search for answers.
The narrative of the story is told alternately by Janie, an innocent kid and wise beyond her years Seitz brings the topic of abortion to light through the eyes of a child, Janie who questions and insight force the reader to dig deeper and face the truth1.
